Spring 2010 Trend: The Nude Pallette
Beauty goes au natural this spring and a makeup palette of nude shades will see you through the entire season. Not to be confused with the ‘no makeup’ look, this take on natural beauty is pretty and polished with an emphasis on sun kissed skin, contoured cheeks and perfectly groomed brows.
The effect is very wearable for all ages and makes everyone appear prettier without looking ‘done’. The arrival of spring is often a great excuse to liberally apply the self tan all over. This season, however, the tan is more ‘light honey’ than ‘deep toffee’ and I’ve been spending most of my time on shoots prepping model’s skin to look like it’s had a weekend in the sun, rather than a month in St Tropez!
The products that I’m using most to achieve this subtle take on the tan are all sheer and really easy to layer over one another. Just remember to exfoliate both face and body twice a week and your colour will look fresher and last longer.
Xen-Tan Transform Face £15.95

Laura Mercier Illuminating Tinted Moisturiser £32.00
When it comes to creating a complexion that looks ‘makeup-free’ this tinted moisturiser is the best around. The tiny illuminating particles melt into the skin and seemingly take five years off the face straight away.
Terracotta Four Seasons Bronzing Powder £45.00
I love this powder because the four different shades seem to suit practically every skin tone I use them on. Start with the lightest shade all over, the deepest shade to contour beneath the cheek bones and the two medium colours to add a sun kissed glow to the cheeks, forehead and chin.
By Terry Rose de Rose liquid blush in Amber Rose £38.00
This liquid blush looks great with a slight tan and the sheer dewy finish will give the illusion that you’ve just stepped off the beach. It also deeply nourishes the skin with rose extracts and smells divine.
